Our mission at Thornton Public School is 'Developing Learners for Life'.
We are committed to providing quality programs in literacy, numeracy and technology for all students in a happy, caring environment. The school promotes the concept that learning is life long. We encourage students to strive to their potential as they prepare to take a fulfilling part in 21st Century society. The school promotes academic and sporting achievement and provides a wide range of cultural activities - art, dance, music and languages. There is a significant emphasis on environmental studies. A friendly, open and welcoming relationship with the community is a feature of the school. Parents are encouraged to be involved in the whole spectrum of school activities.
On behalf of our Thornton Public School community I would like to pay respect to Elders past, present and future. I would like to acknowledge the Wonnarua people who are the traditional custodians of the land on which we are learning together and growing as responsible, respectful and resilient learners.
