Clean Up Australia Day

Clean Up Australia Day 2020 was celebrated at TPS in a green out of uniform to raise money for our gardening program to buy tools, seeds, and more gardening equipment. As a school we successfully cleaned up our school environment collecting many bags and bucketfulls of rubbish, including our beautiful bushland. Many students remarked that there was not as much rubbish as previous years, which was nice to hear. Many hands make light work and we were able to have classes from Kindergarten all the way to year 6 cleaning up different areas of the school across the whole day. All classes used the rubbish collected to discuss recycling and waste programs we have at school, as well as reinforcing the need to follow wastes programs at home and in our local community, so we can have cleaner lands, rivers and oceans.
